Andrei Vybornov

Andrei is responsible for the ExtraMile automotive arm as well as for technology and quality assurance.

He is a graduate of the Samara State University, Samara, Russia, and since 1999 has been a full-time English-Russian translator specialising in technical translations.

Trained in automotive engineering, he is enthusiastic about cars and the automobile industry. He has significant experience translating documents such as engine management system manuals, overhaul and workshop manuals, service books, design documentation, European standards on a variety of subjects, car magazine and newspaper articles, and market surveys.

Andrei’s expertise is enhanced by his extensive interpretation experience, which has included negotiations and meetings involving representatives of GM, Opel, Ford, Renault, Porsche, Magna, FIAT-GM Powertrain, Carcerano, Bosch, Delphi, Johnson Controls, General Electric Plastics, Continental, TNO Automotive, Tenneco Automotive, Saab Ericsson Space, Siemens VDO, AVL, ThyssenKrupp, Haden, SCS/Frigette, York Refrigeration, Comau, Komatsu, and the Itochu Group.

Andrei is extremely proficient in the use of DTP software and advanced translation tools. He is a certified Trados user.

I think that automotive engineering is a fascinating and complex field of human knowledge. To gain competence in automotive translation, you have to be fully committed and, to some extent, to be a nit picker, especially when it comes to highly specialized technical areas.
